Yes, underlay is essential for laminate flooring and strongly recommended for most other types of flooring:

Laminate: Provides a moisture barrier, reduces impact noise, and gives a more solid feel underfoot. Required by most manufacturers to validate warranty.

Carpet: Extends carpet life significantly and improves softness and warmth.

We do not recommend using underlay for sheet vinyl flooring.

We stock underlays for all floor types. Bring your room measurements and subfloor type and we'll recommend the right one.

Multiply your room's length × width in metres to get the square meterage. For example, 4m × 3.5m = 14m².

Then add 10% for wastage on standard straight-lay patterns (14m² becomes 15.4m²). For herringbone or diagonal layouts, add 15% due to extra cutting.

Break irregular rooms into rectangles and add them together. Our team can check your measurements in the warehouse, just bring them written down.

Order samples online or come into the warehouse and take samples away on the day. We always recommend sampling before committing to a large order, to make sure you are happy with the colour, pattern and style of your flooring.

No minimum order. You can buy as little as 1m² or as much as you need. We sell laminate and LVT by the pack, carpet and vinyl by the square metre, and accessories individually.
