What is lacquered wood flooring?

A lacquered wood floor has a clear protective coating that sits on top of the timber and seals the surface. Our boards are UV lacquered in the factory: the lacquer is cured under ultraviolet light for a hard, even finish. That means no oiling or sealing is needed once the floor is fitted.

Brushed and lacquered engineered oak

Before lacquering, each board is brushed to lift the soft grain and bring out the natural texture of the oak. The result looks and feels like real timber, and the added texture helps disguise light everyday scuffs. Choose from Natural, Antique Haze, Golden Glow and Bourbon in 125mm, 190mm and herringbone formats.

Why choose a lacquered finish?

Lacquered wood flooring is one of the easiest real wood floors to live with. The sealed surface resists spills, stains and everyday dirt, so it suits busy family homes, hallways and kitchen-diners. It never needs re-oiling: just sweep and damp mop. With a stable engineered core, it's also suitable for underfloor heating.
