    Cloud 9 Underlays Connoisseur 8mm is a carpet underlay. A good underlay makes your carpet feel softer and warmer underfoot, helps reduce noise between floors and takes the strain of everyday footfall, so the carpet keeps its look for longer.

    Fitting tips. Lay the underlay with the smooth or film side up, butt the joins without overlapping and tape them, then fit the carpet over gripper. If you have underfloor heating, check the combined tog of the underlay and carpet stays within your system's limit (usually 2.5 tog).
