Carpet isn't made for kitchens or bathrooms, where spills and steam can soak in. For those rooms, vinyl or LVT is the better choice.

Jupiter Action Back Straw 4436 is a saxony carpet. Saxony carpets have a deep, dense cut pile that feels soft and luxurious underfoot, which makes them a favourite for bedrooms and living rooms where comfort matters most.

Why choose it. It's made from polypropylene, a hard-wearing, colourfast fibre that resists most household stains and is easy to clean, making it a practical choice for family homes. Its Action Back (woven) backing is designed for traditional fitting over underlay and gripper, giving a firm, stable, stretched-in finish.

Sizes and ordering. Sold by the square metre and cut to the length you need from 4m wide rolls. Choose the width that covers your room with the fewest joins, and add around 10cm on each side for trimming. Remember to add underlay and gripper for a comfortable, long-lasting fit.

Complete your fit with carpet underlay and gripper and door bars.
